My Art Journey
Hello! My name Is Angela Huntington. I'm a small-town girl from rural Utah. Growing up, you could always find me creating something, whether it was painting on rocks, redecorating my doll house, making arrangements with flowers from the neighborhood, or choreographing a dance. I was always involved with art of different forms. I took dance lessons and gymnastics starting at age 3 and continued until 18. To add to my art experience, I took piano lessons for 8 years and worked In my mother's floral shop arranging flowers and painting decor. After high school, I attended UVSC, CEU, and USU Eastern and earned my degree in Elementary Education. Shortly after graduating, my husband and I moved back to our home town where we've been raising our four amazing kids.
Beyond my college years, I continued to create in varies ways. I dabbled in different types of painting, wood working, photography, and creating with concrete. I'm drawn to organic subjects, as you may have noticed from my art. I credit the beautiful nature that surrounds me and being raised in a floral shop.
In 2019, I opened a community art studio called Create Happy to offer art experiences for all ages. We started out small in my art shed by filling it to the brim with young artists during the summer. We soon realized a larger space was what we needed to welcome more of those interested in joining us. So, we moved into our current commercial space where we've held art camps in the summer and art sessions throughout the year. I've enjoyed teaching art classes so much that I decided to go back to school to earn an art endorsement and teach art in our local school district.
I knew from an early age that art was my language but didn't realize how much of an impact it would be in my life. Art is my therapy and a driving force behind my community involvement. Art has taken me many places in life. I look forward to many more adventures and sharing the joy with others around me.
